Age-Appropriate Skin Education for Young Skin (Ages 10–16)

Young skin is increasingly being affected by social media skincare trends, over-exfoliation, and products that are not age-appropriate. At Fleur’s Beauty Room & Skin Clinic, we believe education and early guidance are essential to protecting the skin barrier and preventing long-term damage.

Skin Edit is our professional-led skin education appointment designed specifically for young people aged 10–16. The focus is on understanding skin, building healthy habits, and learning how to care for skin safely — without over-treating or following online fads.

This is a calm, supportive appointment where young people can ask questions, learn what their skin actually needs, and feel confident about caring for it the right way.

Why Skin Edit Exists

Many children and teens are now using skincare routines designed for adult skin — often influenced by social media — which can lead to irritation, sensitivity, and damage to the skin barrier.

Skin Edit was created to:

Reduce confusion around skincare

Protect young skin from over-treatment

Encourage simple, healthy habits

Provide trusted, professional guidance for both parents and young people

Our approach is always evidence-based, age-appropriate, and focused on long-term skin health.

What Happens in a Skin Edit Appointment

Each Skin Edit appointment includes:

A gentle, age-appropriate mini skin treatment

A skin check to understand skin type and current concerns

Clear guidance on a simple, realistic skincare routine

Education around skin changes during growth and puberty

Honest answers to skincare questions, including social media trends

Routines are kept intentionally simple, with a strong focus on barrier protection and understanding what not to use, as much as what to use.
